The new PowerScale F210 and F710 nodes are all-flash storage systems designed to support next-gen workloads, particularly in AI applications. The F210 is optimized for performance with smaller capacity needs, while the F710 balances high performance with greater capacity in a 1U form factor. Both nodes leverage advanced PowerEdge servers and the latest OneFS software to enhance performance and efficiency.
How do the new nodes improve performance?
Users can expect up to double the performance improvement in streaming reads and writes, which significantly accelerates processes like GPU model training and fine-tuning. Additionally, there is a reported 2.6x improvement in high concurrency and latency-sensitive workloads, such as high-frequency trading and electronic design automation, thanks to recent software and hardware upgrades.
What are the efficiency benefits of the new PowerScale nodes?
The new PowerScale nodes provide up to 90% greater performance per watt, improving energy efficiency through a Smart Flow chassis that optimizes airflow. The F710 also increases node density by 25% compared to the previous generation, while the F210 introduces a 15TB QLC drive that doubles storage capacity, enhancing overall storage utilization.
